MCC1004 Mini Crawler Crane on the Thames Tideway Project

The MCC1004 is a compact, crawler-mounted mini crane designed for constrained and difficult terrain. It achieves a maximum lifting capacity of 10 tonnes at a 2.5 m radius, a pick-and-carry capacity of 7.5 tonnes, a maximum lifting height of 21.5 m (extendable to ~26.2 m with a fly-jib), and a working radius of up to 19 m. Its narrow width (2.8 m) and tracked undercarriage make it well-suited for urban construction sites with limited space and uneven ground.

On the Thames Tideway Tunnel project in London (the “super-sewer” upgrade under the river), the MCC1004 was employed via specialist hire provider GGR Group to support shaft access and lifting in challenging underground work zones. The crane allowed safe, efficient transport of personnel and materials into deep shafts, reducing journey times by up to 20 minutes per contractor and improving overall site logistics
