GGR’s team provided practical lifting solutions to safely carry out a glass installation job at a remote countryside cottage recently.

Getting a crane, vacuum lifter and glass load to this secluded house wasn’t going to be easy, but by using GGR’s compact and portable equipment this tricky job was completed with minimum fuss.

The Unic URW-095 mini spider crane hired for this project was wheeled for half a mile down a narrow track and over uneven ground to reach the house. The 500kg glass pane was moved on an A-frame which had to be guided down a 25° slope by being attached to a reversing mini digger. Finally a 750kg capacity DSZ2 vacuum lifter used with the mini crane was able to lift, tilt and rotate the window into position for installation.

GGR are experts at getting to hard-to-reach locations to help with installing glass and other lifting operations for home renovation projects. Our mini cranes and vacuum lifters have been used to help fit curved glass at a house in Wolverhampton, to lift steelwork at a home on the Edinburgh shoreline and on many other projects for residences around the country.
