GGR don’t just provide practical solutions for lifting and installing glass, our specialist stone lifters, mini cranes and lifting robots can handle everything from textured porous sandstone to smooth marble.

Heavy blocks, bricks, boulders, slabs, panels, kerb stones, paving stones, monuments and edging stones that need to be safely handled in restricted access areas pose no problem for our range of compact plant equipment.

GGR’s team of in-house engineers are even able to create bespoke machines by making some inventive changes to lifters and robots so stone can be rotated and tilted at height. For example, when five stone slabs needed to be installed onto the Museum of Liverpool entrance wall, GGR added special stone pads to a HOMER robot which features a constant running vacuum system for secure lifting of up to 500kg. The HOMER’s remote controlled robotic head could precisely manoeuvre the slabs into position, with its ability to rotate 360°, pivot left and right 80° and tilt 80° up and down.

The stone vacuum pads used on this modified HOMER lifter and other below-the-hook stone lifters in the GGR range have closed cell foam rings which have been specially designed to work safely on concrete, saw-cut, flame-cut, honed, polished, grooved, chiseled and bush hammered stone.

GGR have lifted everything from precious ancient artefacts to stone slabs for showstopping water features, here’s some of our favourite stone lifting success stories…

GGR offers a range of grabs, clamps, gantries and vacuum lifters for hire and purchase which allow quick, easy and economical lifting of all types, sizes and finishes of stone and concrete, while minimizing required manpower.  Find out more about our range of stone lifters here.
