A Unic mini spider crane proved to be the ideal compact machine to help straighten leaning gravestones at Key Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Compact and lightweight Unic mini cranes are a practical solution for working in listed buildings and areas such as this Grade II* listed cemetery as they cause minimum damage or disruption to the surrounding environment.

The Unic URW-095 mini crane was used with a below-the-hook Flat Grab Stone Lifter to lift the Victorian memorials back into a safe upright position. The crane’s positionable outriggers could be placed around the other graves so it could get close enough to lift the tipping stones.

The adjustable Flat Grab clamp could securely grip the stones without damaging their delicate surface thanks to the rubber lining on its clamp faces.

Unic mini cranes also been used for other lifting jobs to precisely position fragile and valuable stone loads. A Unic URW-094 lifted Roman sandstone slabs into place for an exhibition at The Hunterian museum, a Unic URW-376 lifted 1 tonne granite slabs for a garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and more recently a Unic URW-547 helped install the Bomber Command Memorial at Beachy Head in Eastbourne.
