GGR Group have recently completed the installation of 6 pieces of glass at Saddleworth School. Two of GGR’s most popular and robust pieces of equipment were pivotal to the completion of the project which involved a UNIC URW-506 spider crane and a P11104 vacuum lifter.

The URW-506 is one of GGR’s strongest spider cranes. Boasting a three-tonne lifting capacity it was the perfect solution to help lift the 150kg pieces of glass into position. The unrivalled combination of the URW-506 and the P11104 resulted in the project being completed safely and efficiently.

The URW-506 was compact and nimble enough to easily manoeuvre into position and then lift the glass up to 13m into position. With a maximum lifting height of 16m and a 15m working radius this job was easy work for the URW-506. This powerful mini spider crane was versatile enough to complete the job yet compact enough to create minimum disruption to the surrounding area.

With the help of the trusty P11104 vacuum lifter which has a maximum capacity of 320kg, this unstoppable duo quickly and efficiently completed the project. With a 180-degree rotation and a 90-degree tilt this bestselling vacuum lifter was able to compliment the lifting capabilities of the URW-506 and install the glass unit.

This joins the long list of times that GGR Group’s UNIC cranes have been used in conjunction with a vacuum lifter, last month GGR was brought in to save the day with a  UNIC URW-706-2 and a MRT4 vacuum lifter.
