UK based company, Thomas Plant Hire, has taken delivery of the new Faresin Electric Telehandler, from UK dealer GGR Group.
The company purchased a high specification unit, including boom suspension, external 3 phase fast charger and a pneumatic GRAMMAR seat, making this one of highest spec Electric Telehandlers in the UK.
The new Faresin Electric Telehandler is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, which unlike regular lead acid batteries can be opportunity charged without any damage or reduction to the battery life. A fast-charging system allows the batteries to be rapidly topped up at convenient intervals throughout the day, such as during breaks, if desired. A regular 110-volt on-board charger is included when larger power supplies are not available and can be used for an overnight charge.
The standard 300Ah battery will last up to six hours of typical use with a rapid recharge time of 1.5 hours from zero with the external fast charger. An optional 400Ah battery is good for eight hours of standard usage and has a two-hour recharge time. The electric machine provides a range of benefits and notable savings, not only in emission levels, but also maintenance and running costs when compared to traditional internal combustion engine equipment.
Ian McMillan, National Account Manager at Thomas Plant Hire said “We feel very passionate about sustainability and innovation, we are a partner of the Supply Chain Sustainability School and work closely with them and all our clients to champion best practices within the industry.
“The Faresin 6.26 Fully Electric telehandler is a fantastic machine and has been well received on site with great feedback from our operators, We have carried out a case study against the diesel alternative and the benefits are phenomenal. I believe electric machines are part of the future of construction sites and we are pleased to be leading from the front”.
Sam Edwards, UK Faresin Sales Manager at GGR Group said “Thomas Plant and their customers have recognised sustainability within the supply chain and the benefits of having a fully Electric Telehandler on site. This new machine has already been put to work on a prestigious site just a stone’s throw away from the Wembley Stadium.
“The operators were initially sceptical about the performance of an electric machine against traditional diesel models, but after just a short time of operating they realised that the performance was unrivalled against the diesel.
“This machine has been praised by the client for how quiet it is around site and it’s manoeuvrability, especially around the internal car parks. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Thomas Plant and to grow their fleet of Faresin Electric Telehandlers”.
The Faresin 6.26 Full Electric is available to buy from GGR’s stock today.
