A hospitality company in the centre of Altrincham required a replacement of glazing units and a glazed external door. Located on a main road with high foot traffic and with a pavement not wide enough to accommodate larger machinery this lift came with the challenge of close proximity to pedestrians and limited space for movement.

Requiring a machine with a compact frame, easy manoeuvrability and heavy lifting power GGR Group’s experts selected the Oscar 800 Glazing Robot. This reliable glass lifter is able to squeeze into small alcoves and corridors with a frame as small as 943mm wide. This was essential for this project due to the need to install glazing inside the company building. Forced to navigate small spaces and awkward angles the manoeuvrability of the Oscar 800 made movement, even when carrying loads, simple.

Featuring a hydraulically powered robotic head with 180° rotation left and right, 90° slew left and right, and 90° tilt up and down this enabled our operator to seamlessly manipulate the glazing units and door while in close quarters. This was also ideal for the inside-out glazing method used for some of the glass as the titling and rotating ability allowed the glazing to be easily slipped into place.

The 800kg capacity of this Oscar ensured sturdy and reliable lifting across each individual install. With a maximum outreach of 2.7m the Oscar 800 was able to install glazing with ease from a more suitable distance to allow glaziers to easily secure the glass. Equipped with a radio remote control our operator was also able to move freely around the lift area to identify the best course of action and achieve ultimate precision.

Perfect for both indoor and outdoor use the Oscar 800 is fitted with all-terrain tyres which reduce damage on flooring but also enables a smooth working experience on rough terrain. Built-in wheeled stabilisers can be folded away to fit through tight gaps before being repositioned for enhancing steadiness in lifts.
