Clad-King and MCC495

Two of GGR Group’s mini but mighty machines were called into action for a cladding installation project in Widnes, Cheshire.

The MCC495 Mini Crawler Crane teamed up with the Clad-King Cladding Vacuum Lifter to lift and install 11m x 1m x 40mm micro-rib cladding panels along a 45-metre section of the building.

With panels weighing up to approximately 200kg each, the project required a lifting solution that could provide both power and precise control. Some of the panels also needed to be picked up and carefully carried into position before installation, making manoeuvrability and secure handling particularly important.

The MCC495 provided a compact alternative for lifting and transporting the large panels within the restricted working area. Its solid tracks offer excellent stability when travelling and operating across rough or uneven ground, while its compact dimensions make it well suited to sites where space is limited.

Despite its small footprint, the MCC495 boasts an impressive 4.9-tonne maximum lifting capacity and a maximum lifting height of 16.35 metres, providing plenty of capability for demanding cladding installations.

Clad-King and MCC495Attached to the crane was GGR Group’s versatile Clad-King vacuum lifter. Designed for the installation of both horizontal and vertical cladding panels up to 14 metres long, its multi-configurable frame allows the vacuum pads to be repositioned to suit a variety of panel profiles, including micro-rib panels.

With a lifting capacity of up to 320kg, the Clad-King comfortably handled the 200kg panels. Its 90-degree dampened tilting function also helped operators accurately position each panel for a controlled, efficient installation.

Working together, the MCC495 and Clad-King provided the strength, mobility and precision required to safely handle, transport and install the large micro-rib cladding panels.
