10 tonne UNIC mini crane at Silverstone

We were put in the driving seat at Silverstone race course recently as our 10 tonne capacity UNIC mini spider crane was used to lift luxury cars for a promotional events company.

The UNIC URW-1006 model was set in up in the pit lane of the world famous Northamptonshire circuit – the home of the British Grand Prix – to lift three cars, staging equipment and 220kg gaming pods up to a first floor rooftop of The Silverstone Wing venue for an event.

GGR’s crane operators put in a winning performance, working with speed and accuracy to lift three 1500kg cars using the world’s strongest mini spider crane and a car lifting hoist created by our own in-house research and development team. This portable hoist has been used for lifting everything from Mini Coopers to supercars such as Aston Martins for temporary installations in shopping centres.Silverstone-image-3

Our giant spider crane had the lifting power and reach required to safely hoist these valuable loads into position ready for the showcase event, then we returned to Silverstone to lift them all down again.

So our 10 tonne spider proved to be a big success on this job, we just wish we could have done a lap of honour around the track in the GGR van!
