Element 1 of 2 – Health & Safety

This is the first mandatory element of our Safe Use of Floor Cranes series of online training. Designed to help you understand your responsibilities, your employer’s responsibilities, and key requirements before equipment operation, this will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

It includes a 25-question knowledge assessment with an 80% minimum pass requirement.

Specific learning outcomes:
  • Recognise and understand your own and your employer’s legal responsibilities and duties;
  • Understand the importance of gaining access to, reading, and understanding the operating manual associated with the appropriate equipment;
  • Understand the need to complete a pre-use inspection;
  • Understand the content and importance of the operator’s safety code;
  • Understand vacuum principles and how to select the correct vacuum lifting attachment.

Element 2 of 2 – Glassmax 250 & Glassmax 500

Accessed after successful completion of the mandatory health & safety element of our Safe Use of Floor Cranes series. Designed to help you operate the associated floor cranes efficiently and effectively, this will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

It includes a 25-question knowledge assessment with an 80% minimum pass requirement.

On successful completion of this course (including the mandatory health & safety element), candidates are issued with a LEEA accredited certificate, valid for a period of 3 years. As a useful addition to your certification, an Operator Skills Card can be provided, if required. The fee for the card is £25.00 + VAT.   • Understand the key features of the Glassmax 250 and 500;
  • Understand how to carry out a pre-use check;
  • Understand how to operate a Glassmax 250 and 500;
  • Identify what documentation is needed in order to operate the associated floor cranes;
  • Understand how to complete/use the applicable documentation.

Cost

The cost of the course is £250 + VAT (for the mandatory health & safety element and one instructional element).

Additional instructional elements from this series can be purchased for £195 + VAT, but only when the mandatory health & safety element from this series has been completed.
