Proving that we are always a step ahead of the competition, GGR’s range of compact cranes have been used on a number of construction projects for installing staircases in awkward lifting locations.

The miniature Unic URW-295 model was hired to lift sets of steel staircases into position inside a new office building in Rochdale. This 2.9 tonne capacity spider crane was perfect for working in between floors and could be arranged around the existing concrete pillars to achieve the optimum lifting position.

A Unic URW-376 mini crane had the lifting height and strength to move pieces of this pre-fabricated staircase into place at the University of East London campus. The minimal dimensions of Unic spider cranes mean they can easily access indoor sites like this one for new construction, refurbishment or maintenance work.

When a self-supporting steel staircase needed to be installed in the atrium of the new Essa Academy in Bolton, a Unic URW-506 mini crane was the perfect choice for the job. With its 16 metre maximum lifting height it could lift steel pieces up to 1.4 tonnes with precision.

GGR’s range of pick and carry cranes are also a great compact lifting solution for handling heavier loads in confined spaces. This 15 tonne capacity G150 crane was used to carry concrete pre-cast stairway pieces weighing up to 10 tonnes under the first floor of a new Tesco Extra store. The small and robust G150 then lifted the sections up to 5 metres in height so they could be fixed into place.
