GGR Group has successfully passed its Cyber Essentials Plus audit through CyberSmart, demonstrating our continued commitment to maintaining strong cyber security practices across the business.

As organisations become increasingly reliant on digital systems and information, cyber security is an important consideration for businesses throughout the construction, lifting and industrial supply chain. Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus provides independent verification that the key security controls required by the Cyber Essentials scheme have been implemented and are working in practice.

For GGR Group, the certification forms part of our wider commitment to operating professionally, securely and responsibly while protecting the systems and information used throughout our day-to-day operations.

What Is Cyber Essentials Plus?

Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed cyber security scheme designed to help organisations protect themselves against a range of common cyber threats.

There are two levels of certification: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Both assess organisations against the same core technical controls. While Cyber Essentials is primarily based around an organisation completing an assessment that is independently verified, Cyber Essentials Plus takes this further through additional independent technical testing of the organisation’s systems.

This provides a higher level of assurance that the required controls have been implemented effectively and are operating as intended.

GGR Group completed its Cyber Essentials Plus certification through CyberSmart, a Cyber Essentials certification body.

Strengthening Cyber Security Across GGR Group

Passing the Cyber Essentials Plus audit provides independent verification of the cyber security measures GGR Group has in place.

This is particularly important as digital systems play an increasingly significant role in communication, project management, customer relationships and the wider day-to-day operation of businesses across the construction and lifting sectors.

The certification supports our ongoing approach to protecting business systems and information while maintaining appropriate controls around the information shared with us by customers, suppliers and business partners.

Cyber security is not a one-off exercise, and no certification can remove every possible cyber risk. Instead, achieving Cyber Essentials Plus provides a recognised framework against which key security measures can be independently assessed.

It also supports GGR Group’s commitment to continually reviewing and improving its IT security as technology, working practices and cyber risks continue to develop.

Supporting Customers and Supply Chain Partners

Cyber security requirements are becoming increasingly important throughout UK supply chains.

For businesses working with major contractors, large organisations and public-sector bodies, demonstrating appropriate cyber security practices can form an important part of supplier assessments, procurement processes and ongoing due diligence.

Cyber Essentials certification is also required for some UK Government contracts involving certain types of sensitive or personal information.

Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus therefore provides additional assurance to organisations working with GGR Group that our key cyber security controls have been independently tested rather than relying solely on self-assessment.

This is particularly relevant as suppliers and contractors become more closely connected through digital communication, shared project information and online systems.

By maintaining recognised cyber security standards, GGR Group can continue to support customers and partners with confidence while meeting the increasingly robust requirements expected across modern supply chains.

Continuing to Strengthen Our Cyber Security

Successfully completing the Cyber Essentials Plus audit is another step in GGR Group’s ongoing approach to responsible business operations.

Alongside delivering specialist lifting equipment and lifting solutions to customers across the UK, maintaining secure and reliable business systems remains an important part of supporting our customers, suppliers, employees and partners.

GGR Group will continue to review its cyber security practices and strengthen its approach as technology and cyber risks evolve, helping ensure that security remains an integral part of how the business operates.
