We are incredibly proud to share that our Field Account Manager, Harley Parkin, has won the Young Woman in Construction award at the European Women in Construction & Engineering (WICE) Awards 2026.
To make the evening even more remarkable, Harley was also shortlisted for the Overall Award, placing her among the very best talent across the entire industry.
Harley’s achievement is made even more special as she follows in the footsteps of her mother, Gill Riley, our Managing Director. Gill herself was recognised early in her career, receiving her first award in 2008 at the NatWest Everywoman Awards. Now, nearly two decades later, Harley is carving out her own path in the industry. Proving that talent, determination, and passion truly run in the family.
A Unique Journey into Construction
Harley’s route into construction is anything but traditional. Before entering the industry, she trained as an actress at Manchester School of Theatre, pursuing a creative career in the performing arts. Rather than taking on typical in-between jobs, Harley chose to build a career that could sit alongside her acting ambitions.
That decision has certainly paid off. She has successfully balanced both worlds, even taking on the role of Juliette in the film Back to Black, while developing a strong and impressive career in construction.
Recognition Among Industry Leaders
Harley was recognised alongside finalists from leading organisations including Laing O’Rourke and Balfour Beatty. Winning against such an outstanding field is a true testament to her hard work, dedication, and passion for the industry.
A Night to Remember
The awards ceremony took place on 21st May 2026 at the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge, celebrating the achievements of women across construction and engineering.
Winning the Young Woman in Construction award, while also being nominated for the Overall Award, marks a huge milestone in Harley’s journey and reflects the impact she is already making within the industry.
