GGR’s been catching some air recently with the installation of louvre ventilation screens at the UK’s first ever BMX indoor track in Manchester.

The £24m track measures over 110,000 square feet, making it the second biggest BMX indoor track in the world.  GGR’s High Operation Mounted EMU Robot (HOMER) was hired to install ventilation panels onto the steelwork envelope, helping air and light to pass into the building.

The Homer robot was chosen for its flexible range of movement, including 80 degree backwards and forwards tilt, making it ideal for installing the 80kg louvre panels at an angle.

The robot was paired up with GGR’s MRTA6 vacuum lifter that comes with a multi-configurable frame and extension arms so it could be securely attached to the outer perimeter of the louvre panel.
