During these uncertain times, GGR Group have been working hard to support essential services and provide lifting equipment to key construction sites that have remained open.

We recently helped support the installation of 100kg, glass reinforced concrete panels on a construction site in the UK.

To install panels of this kind, it would usually take two installation operatives in an access platform, to fit the panels manually by hand. However, with the introduction of social distancing measures and remaining 2 metres apart on site, the use of a UNIC URW-376 mini crane was required to help keep site staff at a safe distance.

The 2.9 tonne capacity mini crane was hired from GGR Group to help lift and place multiple GRC panels into position, to allow the installer to fit the panel single-handedly. The use of the mini spider crane enabled the installer to work alone, whilst maintaining social distancing measures.

Currently, many sites across the UK will be looking at ways they can implement crucial social distancing measures, without compromising on essential lifting operations and overall site productivity.

In response to this GGR have placed an emphasis on offering equipment that allows for one-person operation; reduced manual handling; increase proximity between operators; and the remote operation of equipment to maintaining a safe working environment, whilst ensuring that best practice is followed.
