IMG_2404Two UNIC URW-706 mini spider cranes were recently commissioned to sit on a purpose-built rooftop platform to help lift and place materials, as part of ongoing works for this project in Glasgow.

The two 6 tonne capacity mini cranes had to be lifted on to the roof of the building by a mobile crane to make way to their lifting destinations. Once placed onto the stillages, these two mini cranes worked together to lift and place a variety of materials including steels, glazing, stone and other façade works to infill an existing void at the front of the building.

IMG_2402The UNIC URW-706 is one of the biggest mini cranes in the range, possessing 6 tonnes of lifting power, yet still compact enough for lifting in a confined space. This mini crane is capable of handling loads of 6 tonnes to a radius of 3 metres and a height of 7.2 metres. An optional searcher hook and a 3.1m long fly jib deliver a maximum hook height of 22.7m.

The UNIC URW-706 can be controlled from the operators driving seat or by a fully functioning radio remote control for precise placement of loads.
