UNIC mini crane installing swimming pool slide

One of GGR’s mini spider cranes came along for the ride on this slide installation job which was part of a multi-million pound refurbishment project on a UK leisure centre.

The UNIC URW-095 mini crane was hired to install supporting steel posts and chute sections to what would become the swimming pool’s brand new slide. The 0.995 tonne capacity LPG powered compact crane was able to accurately lift 750kg loads into position at heights of up to 6 metres, working within the limited space around the pool.

The mini crane was fitted with a searcher hook so it could place tube sections close to the pool’s ceiling.

UNIC mini spider cranes have been used for many swimming pool projects, such as building slides at a Qatar water park, installing glazing at Olympic Park’s Aquatics Centre, constructing staircases at Edinburgh Royal Commonwealth pool and fitting a movable floor to this leisure centre swimming pool.
