Statnett receive their UNIC mini crane from Knutsen Maskin A.S

Knutsen Maskin A.S, the official Norwegian distributor of UNIC mini cranes, has sold a 6 tonne capacity UNIC URW-706 mini crane to Statnett, Norway’s power grid operator.

Plant hire company Knutsen Maskin A.S started in 1947 and are based near Oslo in Jessheim. They first became an official UNIC spider crane dealer two years ago, and since then they have sold a number of mini cranes to customers in Norway under the leadership of Managing Director Thor Nordahl, gaining many successful leads from this year’s Bauma exhibition.

UNIC URW-706 leaving Knutsen Maskin depot for KristiansandThe UNIC URW-706 mini crane will be used for various lifting tasks around the Kristiansand substation which is part of the network that supplies power to South West Norway. As part of Statnett’s project to improve the country’s power grid, work is going ahead to upgrade the voltage on the current lines going from the Kristiansand substation.

The UNIC crane’s working area limitation function makes it ideal for lifting operations in restricted zones such as substations where safe working parameters need to be set. UNIC mini cranes are often used for carrying out essential maintenance, repairs and decommissioning work in the UK and European power industry.
