This contractor can tick some tricky cladding panel installation work off their ‘to do’ list thanks to a Libro overhang beam hired from GGR to lift cross patterned GRC panels on this new housing development in central London.

Lifted by the on-site tower crane, the Libro 850 was used to fit modular stone cladding panels to balcony sides on the building’s façade. With the GRC panels weighing up to 765kg and measuring 3.3 metres x 2 metres, the Libro 850 was used to install them in areas that the tower crane couldn’t reach.

The 850kg capacity Libro 850 is the largest overhang beam in GGR’s range, with the smaller capacity Libro 300 and Libro 500 models also available to hire or buy. It features a screw drive counterweight saddle for stability when fitting units underneath deep overhangs using its vacuum lifting frame with 18 suction pads.

As the trend for using modular units like this is growing, GGR’s lifting solutions are becoming more widely used for reaching awkward areas of a building’s façade.  For example, an Ultra-Clad 1000 lifter was suspended by a Libro 500 overhang beam to install large format panels at Edinburgh’s Quartermile development.
