GK20 pick and carry crane installing a pizza oven

When some compact lifting power was required to install a pizza oven in a customer’s back garden, a 2 tonne capacity GK20 pick and carry crane was chosen for the job.

The GK20 is unique to GGR’s range of pick and carry cranes as this model features tracks rather than wheels for travelling over rough terrain. These tracks can be tucked underneath the crane’s chassis so it measures just 820mm wide, which made it ideal for working on this job where access was extremely limited.

First the GK20 lifted the 450kg pizza oven out of its crate on the driveway and travelled with it down the narrow path at the side of the Oxfordshire home. The lightweight crane was then tracked over a Yorkstone paved patio which was protected with ground mats.

This simple job was completed in just 25 minutes, quicker than ordering a takeaway pizza and having it delivered!

GGR’s compact cranes have been used for pizza oven installations in the past, for example when this UNIC URW-295 mini crane lifted an 1800kg pizza oven over a counter at Italian restaurant Mamma Mia in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Marina.
