UNIC mini crane at Regent's Park Theatre

A UNIC mini spider crane hired from GGR Group provided an off-the-wall lifting solution to help build this theatre set in Regent’s Park, London.

The 0.995 tonne capacity UNIC URW-095 model was used to create the two copper effect walls that would provide the backdrop for an upcoming Summer production of The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess at the open air theatre.

In preparation for the show’s opening night, the LPG powered UNIC mini crane installed the 250kg polystyrene and fibreglass sections onto a framework to create the two metallic walls on stage. The mini crane could be easily moved around the stage into various set up positions which made quick work of the wall installation at the 1,250 seat venue.

A UNIC URW-295 mini crane hired from GGR has been used at this open air theatre before, building a multi-level set for their 2010 production of Into The Woods. UNIC mini cranes have also been used for lifting timber beams at the Shakespeare Globe and constructing a stone staircase at the St James Theatre in London.
