A GGR Group employee has been recognised for the service he gives to the local community.

Lee Hird, a crane engineer at our Oldham depot, is also a Special Constable with Greater Manchester Police – giving up over 750 hours of his spare time to help keep the streets safe.

His efforts were recognised at the Citizens in Policing Recognition Awards..

Lee, 34, explained: “I really enjoy being a Special Constable because it’s giving something back to the community. I’m especially proud to have been in the top five Special Constables from an 850 strong force.”

Ian Hopkins, Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, told award attendees: “You make a significant difference and it is important to recognise the huge contribution you make to communities.”
