We can’t wait for the 2014 FIFA World Cup to kick off in Brazil tonight and we’ve got our fingers crossed for England to bring home some glory for a change! However if we’re not so lucky, at least GGR is helping some of England’s football stadiums look worthy of hosting the beautiful game every season.

Britannia stadiumGGR’s mini cranes and lifting solutions have been used time and time again for working in areas of football stadiums where access is restricted and space is limited. Fitting new glass to spectator boxes in fully constructed stadiums is particularly tricky, but GGR’s mini cranes are able to work inside the venues to perform this task.  Here are some examples of our work…

Britannia Stadium, Stoke City FC

A UNIC URW-706 mini crane was set up on sloping ground alongside the stand at Britannia Stadium to fit glass to 12 metre high corporate boxes using a DSZ2 glass vacuum lifter.

This UNIC URW-095 spider crane worked inside the renovated stadium amongst the seats in the stands to lift corporate box glazing using an MRT4 glass sucker.

A Glassmax 500 hoist was hired with a P11104 Four in Line vacuum lifter from our Manchester depot to internally install extra thick toughened glass panels to spectator boxes at United’s Stretford End.
