A group of work colleagues from GGR Group are on the run – for charity!

The nine women, from the lifting solutions specialists’ Long Crendon office, will be donning their trainers at the forthcoming Cancer Research UK’s Race For Life event near Aylesbury.

The team is made up of Rhiannon Spelman, Katie Sadler, Suzi Kershaw, Nicole Harris, Rebecca Simkins, Ellie O’Donnell, Eve Watkins, Katherine Budd and Ana Carrico.

Rhiannon, office manager at the Drakes Drive-based business, explained: “Katherine and Eve are in training for The Great South Run this October. As part of their preparations, they decided to sign up to a local race together.

“Once it had been mentioned in the office a few times, most of us wanted to join and get fit by starting to run. That’s when we all decided to sign up to the Race for Life. It’s great to be able to get fit and raise money for a very worthy cause at the same time. We all know someone whose lives have been touched by cancer in some way.

“We haven’t all started training yet but it will fun whether we walk, run or jog it!”

Gill Riley, managing director of GGR Group, said: “As a company, we do a lot of charity work so it’s great when colleagues decide to do something off their own backs as well. Everyone at GGR Group is cheering them on.”

The Race For Life takes place on Sunday, May 15, at Waddesdon Manor, Silk Street, Waddesdon, from 10.30am.
