A Hydraulica 2600 vacuum lifter was commissioned to install a glass sculpture of the Queen, named One Million Queen, outside Hyde Park in London.
In honour of the Queen’s 92nd birthday, this glamourous glass sculpture was created and installed on Park Lane, just half a mile from Buckingham Palace. The glass sculpture weighed a total of 2.5 tonne which meant that the Hydraulica 2600 Quad-Circuit Compact was the perfect vacuum lifter for the job.
The Hydraulica 2600 glass vacuum lifter boasts four impressive independent vacuum circuits, making for safer and more efficient performance when lifting. With two moveable extension arms, this extremely versatile vacuum lifter can adjust to fit different glass sizes, fitting this 2.95m x 5.5m glass sculpture with ease.
This vacuum lifter has many special features to ensure a perfect lift every time. Its dual ram cylinders provide powered hydraulic 90° tilting and 210° lockable rotation, allowing every load that it lifts to be moved in position with precision. This vacuum lifter is also fitted with larger vacuum pads to ensure for a quicker lift. If this vacuum lifter could come with a crown, it sure would!
The glass sculpture is a homage to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as an appreciation of her life and her legacy. The famous profile image of the Queen was created with one million crystals with 53 real diamonds embedded within, representing the 53 different colonies. The 53 diamonds are also representative of the date in which the Queen’s coronation took place.
Glistening for all to see, the glass sculpture was designed by Italian artist Matt Marga and sits proudly on Achilles Way. This glass sculpture deserved the royal treatment and was installed with a vacuum lifter fit for a King.
