Our 6 tonne capacity UNIC URW-706 mini spider crane is a firm favourite amongst our customers who need a machine with generous reach and a high lifting capacity that can work in restricted access spaces in city centres.

Here’s how our powerful UNIC URW-706 model was used with three of our most popular glass vacuum lifters to install high level glazing in hard to reach spots.

This UNIC URW-706 mini crane was hired to install some canopy glazing with some help from a P11104 glass vacuum lifter at the CityPoint building in central London. The 35 storey skyscraper is the fifth tallest building in the capital.

The P11104 is a 320kg capacity lifter is more commonly known as the ‘Four in Line’ thanks to its linear four vacuum pad configuration.  The compact spider crane was able to work on the pavement outside the building while a rope access team installed the units on the canopy.

The multi-configurable 320kg capacity MRT4 lifter handled the 250kg glass unit while the compact crane easily worked in the limited space between the building and the nearby roadside.

This UNIC mini crane was combined with a 455kg capacity PFHL89 glass vacuum lifter to replace a broken unit at The City Academy in Hackney, London.

The URW-706 and vacuum lifter were hired to install the new 335kg tall unit at a 17 metre height at the school. The PFHL89 slimline glass lifter is just 188mm deep so can easily fit between a building’s facade and surrounding scaffolding.
