A UNIC URW-706 mini spider crane recently teamed up with a 500kg MRTA611 glass vacuum lifter at a Debenhams store in Manchester to help re-glaze the front of the store.

Replacing glass outside a retail store is never easy, but thankfully GGR’s UNIC compact mini spider cranes are able to operate in the tightest spots causing minimum disruption to site.

The UNIC URW-706 has the perfect combination of working flexibility and power and is capable of handling loads of 6 tonnes to a radius of 3 metres and a height of 7.2 metres, making it perfect for lifting and installing at height.

The MRTA611 vacuum lifter was used to install the 200kg replacement glass. Engineered and tested for its reliability, safety and durability, the MRTA611 glass sucker comes with a 500kg lifting capacity and two separate vacuum circuits, each designed with the ability to handle the load independently for extra safety.

This popular glass lifter comes with six on-board suction pads, which made it perfect for lifting this 1105mm x 3500mm piece of glass with precision. It also benefits from a rechargeable battery, so there are no tricky cords to deal with during operation – very handy when installing glass at height.

Chris Lord, Lifting Products Director at GGR Group commented “Utilising our innovative UNIC mini spider cranes and range of Woods Powr-Grip vacuum lifters makes for a perfect combination when lifting and installing at height. The versatility of these machines makes them the natural option for a variety of lifting projects in some of the most compact and challenging locations”.
