We have moved to using HVO fuel within our diesel powered transport vehicles and equipment, reduced carbon emissions by up to 90%.

Although there is a large presence of eco-friendly lifting equipment in the GGR range of equipment, the introduction of this alternative fuel type gives an extra boost to our mission to provide innovative solutions to help reduce CO2 emissions in the lifting industry.

What is HVO?

Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) is an environmentally friendly alternative to mineral diesel and is FAME-free and fossil free with a wide range or OEM approvals for use in construction machinery, generators and modern vehicles. It is made by the hydro-processing of vegetable oils and fats, meaning that this fuel type is a renewable source.

Key Facts:

  • Fossil-free
  • Made from 100% renewable raw materials
  • Can reduce CO2 emissions by 90%
  • Safer handling fuel
  • Cleaner burning fuel
  • Approved for use in modern vehicles, generators, construction machinery and industrial power systems.

Green D + HVO is renewable and is made from 100% waste materials – biggest ingredient is used cooking oil  (used cooking oil, tallows and other waste oils) . All the feed stocks used within our GREEND+ fuel are sustainably and responsibly sourced.

HVO is sourced from Neste and eni mainly – they refine the product and the HVO is shipped over to the UK and then Green Biofuels who are New Era’s partner add the 100% organic additive in which further enhances the fuel.

GGR HVO is certified within the ISCC Certification  (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) and RSPO schemes.

Why Use HVO Fuel

With the UK Government pledging that by 2050, carbon emissions are to be reduced by 80%, the need for sustainable fuels has never been greater.

This means that emissions from homes, transport, farming, construction and industry will have to be avoided completely. Using alternative fuels such as HVO can help you meet your sustainability goals and meet government targets. Ideal for working in; ULEZ/Clean Air Zones, sub-level projects and environmentally sensitive areas.

HVO fuel has been approved for use of construction equipment without having to make any modifications. This means that it can be used in the same machine as red diesel, without damaging the unit.

When Will This Come Into Effect?

The introduction of HVO on GGR Hire orders will being immediately.  This means that any lifting equipment delivered will include a full tank of HVO fuel, as well as an additional 20L “fuel box” in order to fill up the tank.

If you would like to know more about the use of HVO fuel and how this will enhance your efforts to reduce carbon emissions, please contact the team on info@ggrgroup.co.uk and a member of our team will be in touch to talk through the benefits and effects of using this alternative fuel type.
