A host of compact and versatile Unic mini cranes, accessories and glass vacuum lifters were used at Prague Zoo in the Czech Republic recently to add the finishing touches to their new hippopotamus enclosure.

Lifting heavy glass panels to create safe viewing galleries around the new hippo pavillion, a Unic URW-095 mini spider crane was used with a 500kg capacity multi-configurable MRTA6 vacuum lifter to move units into the correct position for fixing. This small but strong mini crane was perfect for navigating around obstacles on the construction site and getting to hard-to-reach lifting locations.

A GL-UM600 robotic crane attachment was used to install glass panels in the hippo’s indoor area and a 4 tonne capacity Unic URW-547 model was also hired for lifting heavier 950kg panels to the outdoor pool.

From Prague to Scotland, see how GGR’s Hydraulica 1000 glass vacuum lifter was used to help create a new home for two Giant Pandas at Edinburgh Zoo.
