Yet another swimming pool job for our Unic mini cranes! They are fast becoming essential pieces of equipment for poolside lifts and a recent project at a Barnsley School needed some compact lifting power to complete a tricky job.

Unic URW-094 went to Greenacre School in Barnsley, South Yorkshire over the half term break to work on their hydrotherapy pool. The school for 2-19 year old children with special needs required the safety beam to be fitted to the pool so moving pupils in and out of the pool would be easier.

The 0.995 tonne capacity crane lifted the 400kg steel beam at a 3.5 radius so it could be fitted to the pool’s structure. The Unic mini crane was chosen as the area had very restricted access and, as you can see in the photo below, it was able to sit in the standard sized doorway with its boom reaching out to lift the beam to the required height.

With the help of the mini crane the job was finished in no time at all and the pool was ready for the students’ return after their break.
