More and more frequently, GGR are being asked to provide practical solutions for lifting, handling and installing materials with curved surfaces. Convex and concave loads are no longer a challenge thanks to the many specialist products which we can offer our customers.

A Unic URW-094 mini spider crane was used recently with a 400kg capacity DSL2 curved glass vacuum lifter to install this large panel to a home in Scotland. The flexibility in the arms of this specialist lifter means that it can mould itself to securely fit load surfaces with curves. This rotating 16-pad lifter has been used for other home renovation work, like on this residential project at a house in Wolverhampton.

GGR also has other lifters for handling curved glass to hire and sell, such as the compact Kombi 7211-DSG lifter, 600kg capacity DSZ2 -12V Curved and powerful DSH2 Curved which can lift up to 1200kg. Our bestselling curved N6000, N6450 and TL6FH Flip Handle hand cups are also ideal for extra assistance when manually lifting lighter curved loads.

Some of GGR’s glazing robots and overhang beams that are typically used for installing flat glass panels can be modified for use with curved units too, like our HOMER robot.  This Libro overhang beam was used with a tower crane to help install both flat and curved glass units at Wakefield College recently.
